All new parents worry and stress when their baby makes a funny noise or gets a rash. I woke up to my five week old baby with small spots and red blemishes all over her cheeks, neck and chest. It seemed to flare up worse the warmer she was. Firstly I thought she’d had a reaction to something maybe the fabric softner I use or the shampoo and body washes I’ve been using for her or maybe it was because I wore perfume before going out one day? Then I thought it could be a heat rash as I keep the house warm? Or maybe it’s eczema?.
I researched online and spoke to a friend whose baby had something similar. Hers was eczema. I knew I needed to get something to soothe her skin so I looked online and spoke to a pharmacist.
I found the Aveeno baby soothing relief range. I have used the Aveeno hand cream before due to washing my hands at work so much and them getting very dry, cracked and sore. It was brilliant so I was hopeful these would work.
These products are £8.50 each in leading supermarkets but luckily for me they were on offer in Boots with 1/3 off.
The emollient wash can be used by either putting it into the water or as a body wash straight onto the skin. I decided to put it into the bath water and bathe her in it.
After getting her out and drying her thoroughly I used the emollient cream.
The next day I was surprised to see her cheeks were noticeably better. After a little wash I put more cream on and got her dressed.
On her next bath time a day or so later I put the emollient wash directly onto a flannel and onto her skin and washed off with water. I used the cream again.
We are now on day 5 and her skin is remarkably better.
I will continue to use these products and keep a look out for new products Aveeno bring out. I highly recommend them to anybody with sensitive or dry skin.
